This is my 4th set. The hand grips are extremely comfortable. There are springs on the legs which act as shock absorbers. Very comfortable, very lightweight.

If you are on crutches for a week you notice it in your hands by Friday. If you are on them for good, you feel every hard floor, every sidewalk, every set of stairs, and you feel it in the same two places all day long.
Here is why that happens. A standard forearm crutch is a straight aluminium tube. A tube does not compress. Whatever force goes into the tip when it hits the ground has nowhere to go except back up the shaft into the handle and the cuff, and it arrives all at once, at the speed you put it there.
The in-Motion leg is not a plain tube. There is a spring inside the lower post. Loading the crutch compresses it, lifting the crutch returns it, and that travel happens on every step without you doing anything.

Are these the same as Lofstrand, elbow or Canadian crutches?
Yes, and people also call them arm crutches or arm support crutches. They are all one design: a cuff that wraps your forearm and a grip you hold, rather than a pad under your armpit. Lofstrand is the clinical name, Canadian crutch is the older North American one, elbow crutch is what most of the world says, and forearm crutch is what we call it here. The in-Motion Pro is that design, with a spring built into each leg.

Do they fold?
No. The height adjusts without tools and the cuffs and handles come apart for service, but the frame does not fold down for storage or air travel. If folding is a requirement, this is not the crutch for you.
